Welcome.
A Welcome Message
- from Sandra Hall, Symposium Manager, UC Davis Air Quality Research Center

As the new symposium manager for the UC Davis Air Quality Research Center - it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us at our 32nd annual Aviation Noise & Emissions Symposium, which will be held in the beautiful city of Long Beach, CA, on February 25-27, 2018.
For over three decades, this venerable symposium has been the premiere event nationally and internationally for bringing together stakeholders tackling difficult aviation noise and emissions issues, with a recent focus on problems caused by the transition to NextGen satellite-based navigation.
2018 opens a new chapter in the history of the symposium with the launch of an updated and refreshed conference at a wonderful new venue.
Think of it as the UC Davis Aviation Noise & Emissions Symposium Version 2.0!
You will see a new emphasis in 2018 on improving your conference experience by offering enlivened networking opportunities, enhanced speaker presentations, and the latest conference technologies and apps.
The Program Planning Committee has worked diligently to produce a program that presents the latest scientific findings and legislative mandates, cutting-edge technologies and practices, and lessons learned in recent mitigation efforts – and we are all eager to present it to you.
‘On the Cusp of Change’ is the 2018 program theme and it captures the exciting potential of the symposium presentations to provide a path forward in addressing NextGen environmental issues.
I look forward to seeing you at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, which is within walking distance of fine restaurants and a world-class aquarium.

With warmest regards,

Sandra Hall
